Your chats live on your device
We don't keep them on our servers. Your browser encrypts them, and it takes two keys to open them.
Two keys open your chats
Your browser encrypts your chats with two keys. One never leaves your device, and our server gives you the other when you sign in. Without both, a copy of your browser data can't be read. Signing out locks them again.
What you can do in Settings
Back them up. Each backup is encrypted, and only its passkey or recovery key opens it. Restore from it when you need to.
Keep them on this device. Ask your browser to keep Morse's data, even when space runs low.
Sign out everywhere else. A lost phone's chats stay locked until you sign in on it again.
Delete your account. This deletes your chats, characters, and creations on this device and every other one. It can't be undone.

Questions
What if I clear my browser or lose my device?
Your chats go with it, and we can't bring them back, since we never had them. Restore them from a backup if you made one.
Can Morse read my backup?
No. Each backup is encrypted, and only its passkey or recovery key opens it.
